Outdoor Approach SeriesOutdoor Approach is designed for the experienced climber who wants to expand their knowledge of climbing to the outdoors. In this course you will learn and practice various systems and techniques involved in anchor building, cleaning anchors, rappelling, and multi-pitch climbing. This course does not cover traditional (trad) anchors, placements, or climbing techniques.

Outdoor Approach: Knots and HitchesLearn from the best and build skills you’ll use every time you head outside. In this hands-on class, you’ll master the most essential knots and hitches for outdoor climbing—from everyday fundamentals to more advanced systems.
Your instructor, Derek, is an experienced trad climber and AGMA-certified Guide who brings real-world knowledge to every lesson. He’ll walk you through the knots and hitches you’ll use most often in the outdoors, explain when and why to use them, and help you understand how they fit into larger climbing systems. Curious about more complex setups? Derek welcomes questions and loves diving deeper.
