Fast Track Lead Climbing

Lead Climbing is another form of climbing possible on our walls. Instead of the rope hanging from above, you bring your rope up with you and clip it to the wall as you climb. Fast Track Lead Climbing is designed for those climbers who want to get leading as fast as possible. In this accelerated course, one of our expert instructors will guide you through just the essentials of lead climbing and belaying in a safe and supportive environment.

Recognize essential safety fundamentals of lead climbing and the associated risks.
Exhibit knowledge of the equipment involved and required for lead climbing.
Demonstrate proper lead belaying techniques, including rope management.
Application of proper technique while practicing lead falls as both belayer and climber.
Perform various clipping scenarios and safe rope management while climbing.
Communicate effectively as both a climber and a belayer.
Recognize proper lead climbing etiquette in the gym.

Must be top-rope certified with Mesa Rim.
All participants must be at least 14 years of age.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to gear up.

This is an intermediate course for climbers who have six (6) months of climbing and top rope belaying experience.
Recommended that participants feel confident executing climbing moves as hard as 5.10a without resting on a variety of climbing terrain.
Climbing is a physically demanding activity that carries inherent risks. Please follow instructions carefully, use the provided equipment correctly, and respect the rules and guidelines of the climbing facility. Always consult a medical professional before participating in any physically demanding activity, especially if you have pre-existing health conditions.

Participants are advised to wear athletic clothing (breathable and stretchy) and must bring water and or snacks to the session.

Mesa Rim Cancellations

If Mesa Rim cancels a program, participants may:
- Reschedule to a future program of equal or lesser value
- Receive a full credit or refund (including any balance from rescheduling to a lower-cost program)

- Reschedule, receive full credit, or receive a full refund
7–14 Days Before Program:
- Reschedule, receive full credit, or receive a 50% refund
7 days or less:
- No rescheduling, credit, or refund available
No-shows:
- Participants who fail to arrive at the designated Mesa Rim location within 30 minutes (subject to instructor discretion) of the scheduled start time for the event will be treated per the 7 day cancellation policy.
