Basics of Movement

This 4-session course is designed to teach climbers the basics of climbing-specific movement. In each 1.5-hour class, an experienced instructor will help you develop a foundational understanding of climbing basics in a supportive group environment. Join us for four weeks of coaching, tailored to the needs of beginner to intermediate climbers.

  • Demonstrate effective warming up and cooling down routines.
  • Utilize foundational principles of balance, body positioning, and weight shifting.
  • Apply the basic footwork techniques of edging and smearing.
  • Perform the fundamentals of dynamic movement with confidence and control.
  • Decipher tricky route sequences using problem-solving strategies.
  • Explore different climbing styles and wall angles with confidence.
  • Analyze strategies used by other climbers of similar abilities.
